You should also check out how high any fences are, especially if you have a dog who is a jumper. You want to do what you can to make sure that they are going to be safe while you are gone. You should find out if there is a veterinarian on staff or if the boarding facility has an arrangement with a local vet. If your dog were to get sick or injured, you want the facility to be able to treat them as quickly as possible, and that may mean taking them to a vet other than the one you use. So, find out about their vet and make sure that you provide all of your dog's health records to the facility so that they have them in case your dog does need to have medical treatment while you are away. The facility may also ask you to sign paperwork approving any treatment that your dog may need while you aren't in the same location as your pet.
